Revelation 6:5

"When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, 'Come!' I looked and behold, a black horse: and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand."

Polymer Clay is Fun!!!

I have a bunch of Polymer Clay Beads and Pendants that I made a few years ago and then packed away and never did anything with them. I'm trying to incorporate some of them into my jewelry. I had so much fun creating with the clay, I don't know why I stopped using it. I will have to make a point one of these days to start playing around with it again! Here is a couple Chokers I made with a couple of the Pendants.

Looking out the window at the drizzly day today, I appreciate the beautiful Fall days we have had recently. It's coming to an end and it will be snowing soon. This season does not last nearly long enough! Glad I took a walk on Mount Battie last week with my girls and enjoyed the Foliage before it is gone. Here are some pictures.

Fall is here!!

Wow! Haven't Blogged in a long time. I've been enjoying the beautiful weather we have been having. It is turning colder, the leaves are changing and the bugs are disappearing...AAHHH..must be my favorite time of year! Will be firing up the woodstove in the cellar soon (my "winter studio") and, hopefully, creating like crazy! Here is some of my newest creations.

Jewelry appearing on Good Morning America

Just found out that 3 pieces of my jewelry will be appearing on Good Morning America via my Sis-In-Law, Dalene Dutton, who had an interview with them today about the great work that she does. She will be airing Monday morning on ABC sometime between 7am-9am. She has on a Necklace, Earrings and a Ring that I made.

Here is a picture of the Necklace and Ring that will be appearing. I custom made the Earrings for her the day she was here, so I didn't get a picture of them.

New Puppy, Daisy Duke!!!

This is our new puppy...actually, we have had her for almost 3 weeks now. She is almost 5 months old now. She's a White and Brindle colored Jack Russell Terrier and she is a really good girl. We got her at a Pet Store and paid too much for her as she is a "Puppy Mill" puppy from Missouri....came complete with Kennel Cough to boot...Don't get me started!! But we fell in love with her and had to have her and I'm so glad she's with us! Abby (our wonderful Chocolate Lab) loves having her around as her own little live chew toy....no really, they play great together and they are both good campers. Daisy had her first camping experience with us up in New Brunswick, Canada the day after we brought her home...she was a trooper!

Faceted Citrine Chandelier Earrings

Finally finished these Earrings and they are listed on Artfire and Etsy. These are a project I started a while ago and then ran out of the right size Headpin, so I stopped work on them and then just kept procrastinating on finishing them. I finally picked them back up the other day and just finished them. They are very sparkly and make a light "tinkling" sound as they move about.

Update about hay

Just thought I should post an update about the hay situation. We were able to get in about 600 bales, but it is not very good stuff. Have been selling anything not feed-worthy for mulch. The feed hay is basically going to provide roughage and not much else. Second crop is groing nicely and we will have to rely on that and grain/supplements for our important nutrients. Kinda sucks because we had such good hay last year that I didn't need to grain at all. Oh well, can't ask for things to be perfect ALL the time!! LOL
I hope others with horses here in Maine are able to get the hay that they need for the winter. It really worries me, but horse people just seem to know how to get by in hard times. I think we are a pretty tough and resourceful bunch...kinda have to be!

Well, here is a picture of a Necklace I completed a couple days ago & added to my Etsy & Artfire Studios. I had a ball making this one...it just flowed.

giving up on the hay.

We tried and tried to make the hay, but the weather just will not cooperate. It seems like if we even think about doing it, it rains! Tomorrow is supposed to be nice, but we need 2 more days of nice, sunny, windy, dry weather for the hay to make....yeah right! LOL! At this point, I guess we will just have to hope that all the rain will make that second cut grow long & lush. And have to hope for a long season, since we were a month late cutting the first cut due to all the rain. Looks like I am going to be in the market for buying hay this year....with 5 horses, that's a good chunk-o-change!

And this is what Abby thought of the whole deal...

And then this is what the sky looked like at the end of the day...

One more of the fields...

And another one...

Can't make hay in the rain!

Here are some pictures of the hay fields 2 days ago...when we THOUGHT we were going to make hay...

My Beautiful Black Horse

I had a wonderful moment with my troubled beautiful black mustang, Cuervo today. Usually reserved and guarded, I called to him today from across the pasture and he came at a gallop to me. It was such a milestone for us and a moment that takes your breath away. I feel such a connection with this horse. I have so much respect and admiration for him and what he represents. Today reminded me of how important it is to take as much time as it takes to gain mutual respect and trust. It's all starting to pay off and come together. *Happy Sigh*

Some new & fun stuff I've started adding to my Studio...Western Hatbands...YEEHAAW!!
